These agencies formed the heritage of Iraqi trading. Initially Al Bunnia only traded within the Iraqi market. Due to increase in demand, the group decided to establish specialist companies that started importing from other Arabic countries, India and Pakistan. These imports then expanded into Europe, America and Scandinavia.
Each of these companies, being an independent entity had independent management and no influence on its sister concerns. The entities served to establish further specialized agencies to help foreign organizations set up shop locally. This enabled MNCs to introduce products, operations and services in the Iraqi market. The agencies further helped in marketing and distribution of processed commodities as and when required.
